The Association offers the following services:
1. Printing and distribution of all motor certificates to its members is.
2. Maintenance of various registries for Life insurers such as Life Death and Disability (LDD), Agents and Listed Risks.
3. AKI avails central Mailing boxes to its members and other bodies e.g. Brokers, lawyers for faster communication.
4. Legal Research is undertaken on matters affecting member companies and the public at large with a view to
protecting their rights and interests as well as promoting agreement and cooperation with other players.
5. Protecting, promoting and advancing the common interests of members.
6. Promoting agreement and co-operation among its members on matters of mutual.
7. Gathering and collecting data information and market-wide statistics from members for the purpose of determining
market trends.
8. Consulting or co-operating with other similar Associations within and outside Kenya in regard.
9. Managing the Assets and Funds realized from contributions by members for the benefit of members.
10. Speaks out on issues of common interest;
11. helps to inform and participate in debates on public policy issues;
12. Acts as an advocate for high standards of customer service in the insurance industry;
13. Organizes conferences, workshops, seminars, forums and other events for the insurance industry;
14. Publishes market reports, research reports and policy papers, Personal Insurance handbook and other insurance related information;
15. Procures and issues motor and aviation certificates to member companies;
16. Contracts and oversees Marine Cargo Surveillance Scheme operations;
17.Assists members in third party claims and facultative reinsurance recoveries;
18. Manages Motor Pool funds;
19. Consults and co-operates with other Associations or similar bodies within and outside Kenya regarding matters of mutual interest;
20. Undertakes public education campaigns on insurance on behalf of members.
21. Participates in road safety campaign to reduce road carnage.
