Backgound
The sports day was held on Saturday 3rd October 2009 at the Kenya Utalii College Sports Ground on Thika Road, Nairobi. The sports day started at 8.30 a.m and ended at 6.15 p.m. Twenty two member companies registered but only sixteen participated in the finals.
Events
There were six main events namely:-
• Athletics
• Ball Game (Soccer, Volleyball and Netball
• Field Events (Long Jump, Tug of War and Short Put)
• Swimming (Breast Stroke, Free style and Relay)
• Auxiliary Events (Sack race, Banta, Pepeta, Hoola Hoop, Kuku chase)
• Indoor Games (Darts and Pool)

Participants at this year's sports day felt that AKI was doing better in the organisation of the event compared to the last years event in terms of the number activities, organization and participation.
